Playlist Tools
M3U Playlist Analyzer
See what is actually inside any M3U playlist.
These tools work with any compliant IPTV subscription you already own. SMART 4K does not endorse, host, or distribute pirated streams.
How to use
- 1
Choose a source
Paste a playlist URL, paste raw M3U content, or upload an .m3u file (up to 5 MB).
- 2
Run the analyzer
We fetch and parse the playlist, classify each line as live channel, movie, or series, and detect the country from tvg-id and group-title.
- 3
Read the breakdown
You get total entries, content-type counts, the top categories, and the top countries - without exposing any per-stream data.
Frequently asked
Does this test if individual streams are alive?
No. Most IPTV providers block server-to-server requests, which would falsely report most channels as dead. The analyzer only inspects the playlist content.
How big a playlist can I analyze?
URL fetch is capped at 30 MB or about 100,000 entries - whichever comes first. Pasted and uploaded files are limited to 5 MB.
What counts as a live channel vs. a movie?
We detect by URL path (/live/, /movie/, /series/), file extension (.mp4 and friends count as VOD), episode markers like "s01e02", and group-title keywords. Anything ambiguous defaults to live.
How does country detection work?
We check the tvg-id suffix first (bbcone.uk → United Kingdom), then the group-title prefix, then the channel name prefix, then a long-name fallback like "Brasil" or "Deutschland".
Do you store my playlist?
No. We parse it, return the summary, and discard it. Nothing is logged or saved.
How many runs do I get?
Five analyses per IP per hour. Most users only run one or two.
